La Baule is a lively and attractive town situated on a seemingly endless beach of silver sand (approx 5 miles long) with neat and colourful promenade gardens, set against a backdrop of shining white hotels and apartment blocks The area provides many fine restaurants serving freshly caught seafood and fine wines from the nearby Loire Valley and there is plenty to do both at night and in the daytime. There are night clubs and piano bars, two casinos and innumerable bars and cafes where you can while away an hour or two, there is a daily market common to all French towns, and there are two delightful villages at each side of La Baule - Pouliguen and Pornichet - and many others in the surrounding area.
The site of La Roseraie is situated in the village of Escoublac, 2km inland from La Baule and set in rolling countryside. The four star site is run by the owner to a very high standard and is clean and tidy throughout. There is a full size and half size tennis court, a heated outdoor swimming pool, an aquaslide and a separate paddling pool. The small attractive restaurant also offers a "take away" service (only open during July and August). There is a bar and a small shop catering for day to day needs (only open during July and August) and a modern toilet and shower block. Washing, drying and ironing facilities are also available for a small charge. Broad, attractive flowering hedges divide each caravan or tent pitch.
As this is a small and quiet site, it is an ideal place for families and friends alike. There are no busy roadways and therefore the site offers peace and calm at any time of the day. Cars are allowed to park beside the vans and tents, but are not allowed to enter the site after 10.30 p.m. A special parking area is provided for late night parking ensuring minimum disturbance late at night. Radios and record players are banned between 11.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m.
The village centre is a five minute walk from the site and has a well stocked "8 till late" supermarket together with a chemist, three bars, a tabac, florist, garage and a church. La Baule Golf club, a premier club of the area is a 10 minute drive inland by car.
